Who Are the “Senior Standouts” in Your Life?
My 30th high school reunion is coming up. As I was perusing the old yearbook, I started to think about a yearbook on a “grander” scale. If I were to have a personal “Lifebook,” who would be the “Senior Standouts” in my life? Just as every high school yearbook has a “Mosts” section-Most Likely to Succeed, Most Attractive, and the like, we have all have people in our life who represent the “mosts” and “standouts.” Perhaps they affected us directly, or maybe they are just examples that we try to live by. Either way, who are the people who have helped us develop into who we are today?
Who would win the title “Most Courageous?” Who has, despite their fear, made the tough choice to act because they knew it was the right thing to do? Has their example helped you through difficult times?
Who has been the “Best Shoulder to Cry On?” What were you going through at the time and how did their presence and/or advice help you?
Who is the “Kindest Person” you know? Do they give “unconditionally”- not expecting anything in return? Are they kind to those who are not kind back?
Who is the “Class Clown” in your life? That person who has the best sense of humor and makes everyone laugh. The life of the party. Are they truly happy? To whom do they turn to make them laugh?
This quote from @littlepennythoughts sums it up well: “The best kind of people are the ones that come into your life, and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The people that believe in you so much, you start to believe in you too. The people that love you simply for being you. The once in a lifetime kind of people.”
Who are your “once in a lifetime” people? More importantly, do they know it?
